A major wildfire is ongoing in the district of Elbe-Elster (Brandenburg) close to the Saxon border since 25.07.2022. The fire is currently
spreading quickly and has burnt about 850 ha so far. Local firefighters are supported by helicopters but the fire is not under control yet.
Regional government declared state of emergency and several hundred people already had to be evacuated.<br>
