Evolutionary histories of functional mutations during the domestication and spread of japonica rice in Asia

We resequenced herbarium specimens of domesticated rice to improve sampling of japonica rice in China and neighboring regions. Using these and previously resequenced japonica landraces, we investigated the diversification and adaptive history of japonica rice following domestication in the Lower Yangtze valley in China.
