Long-read nanopore DNA sequencing of a HeLa cell line

This study performed whole genome sequencing of a HeLa cell line, HeLa-JVM, using Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) long-read sequencing and Repli-Seq. The objectives were to evaluate DNA methylation, chromosome copy number, and DNA replication timing. The main findings were that the inactive X chromosome had been lost and replaced by the active X chromosome. The raw ONT sequencing and Repli-Seq data will be available from dbGaP.
