Global Blackout Dataset Across Köppen Climate Zones: Real and Synthetic Records with 25+ Attributes

This dataset underpins the Power Outage Predictor (POP) system and includes over 1,000 structured blackout records from 55+ countries, spanning all 30 Köppen-Geiger climate zones. It combines real-world data from national reports, academic studies, and open-access sources with AI-generated synthetic entries to ensure geographic and climatic completeness. Each event is organized using a 25+ attribute schema capturing geographic, environmental, grid, and impact-specific details — including date, location, cause, weather severity, grid component failure, recovery method, and blackout classification. The dataset enables probabilistic blackout forecasting, climate-zone-level resilience planning, and integration with Bayesian inference engines. It is designed for future expansion and public contribution.
