Based on 2912 annually resolved proxy sequences primarily derived from tree rings and historical documents, we developed a suite of Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) reconstructions covering all of Asia for each hydrological year (November to October) since 1700, as well as SPI reconstructions for rainy seasons defined as November to April for West Asia and May to October for other regions, with a spatial resolution of 2.5°.
