资源简介:

This article investigates the cultural representation of humanity and dehumanization in modern English literature, focusing on how contemporary literary texts reflect the complexities of human identity in response to social, political, and technological transformations. The study examines how modern writers portray the gradual loss of human values such as empathy, individuality, emotional depth, and moral responsibility within oppressive systems. Special attention is given to dystopian and postmodern narratives, where characters often experience alienation, identity crisis, and psychological fragmentation. At the same time, the article highlights literature’s role in preserving human dignity by emphasizing memory, resistance, and emotional consciousness. The findings suggest that modern English literature not only critiques systems of dehumanization but also serves as a cultural space where the essence of humanity is continuously reconstructed and redefined.
