Two sets of targeted DNA enrichment probes designed using HUBDesign were validated by enriching artificial samples. A set of probes for coronaviruses was validated with synthetic samples composed of a mixture of RNA from SARS-CoV-2 and HCov-NL63 on a background of total human RNA. A set of probes for pathogens associated with sepsis were validated with synthetic samples of composed of Burkhoderia multivorans ATCC17616, Klebsiella pneumoniae N25C9, Staphylococcus aureus IIDRC0017, Streptococcus constellatus C1050, Streptococcus intermedius B196, Streptococcus pneumoniae R6, and Streptococcus sanguinis GC83 spiked into fresh human blood from a healthy donor.
