资源简介:

Since the end of the Cold War, efforts to build peace in post-conflict societies through the establishment of democracy, rule of law and promotion of human rights have often produced disappointing results. Critics suggest that the disappointing result of peacebuilding is because external interveners often pay less attention to local contexts in post-conflict societies. It is suggested that to build and sustain peace, peacebuilding activities must be led by local actors. Based on Ugandan case study, the thesis contributes to peace and conflict scholarship by pointing to the transformational opportunities inherent to examining the political dimensions of the local in peacebuilding.
