Blueprint of radiation shield for the iMet-XQ2 meteorological sensor

A radiation shield for the meteorological sensor (iMet-XQ2, International Met Systems, Inc.) was developed to reduce the effects from heat exhaust from both the rotors and the body of a drone and from solar radiation. The temperature probe within the shield was confirmed as well ventilated by simulation and laboratory experiment. The effect of a heat-reflecting coating, which needs to spray on the shield, was also validated in field experiments under mostly clear sky conditions at around noon in Kitami (Hokkaido, Japan). The shield would help avoid the deposition of precipitation on the temperature and humidity sensors. The STL file is available for 3D printing.
