Genomes of nine bumblebee species

Bumblebees are a group of creatures belonging to the genus Bombus (Hymenoptera: Apidae). There are about 250 known bumblebee species belonging to 15 subgenus, mainly limited to temperate, alpine and arctic zones of the northern hemisphere. The high levels of species diversity, habitat heterogeneity, genomic evolution allometry, and their fascinating life history, make bumblebees an outstanding model system for molecular evolution adaptation studies. Here we provide additional next generation sequencing data (clean reads of nine genomes) for molecular evolution analyses for bumblebees.
