Each volume can be attributed to a particular Honorary Physician, although occasionally the labelling of the volume is incorrect. Correlation of each volume with the terms of each physician indicates that this is a complete set of these records. Dr Balls-Headley's Case Book 1878-1882 is a different format and may belong to an earlier record keeping system.They cover the period 1878-1910 and are succeeded by the Infirmary Department Case Files VPRS 17391.Series HistoryPrior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the RWH Archives in RWH series number 0373.
