S.A. Mid North - Knowing Our Native Pastures

This project will conduct a series of workshops and produce a publication to impart to farmers a greater understanding of their native pastures and how to best manage them for long term sustainable use. Key information to be imparted for improved grazing management will include native pasture identification, ideal grazing periods and frequency, ground cover limits, and assessing pasture availability and nutritional value. These will result in increased knowledge among farmers of sustainable grazing management practices and improved skills in accurately assessing and managing ground cover. These will lead to increased ground cover and reduced erosion on farms.
