NRS-15727 | Interim report of the Special Commission of Inquiry into the Glenbrook Rail Accident

This series is the first Interim Report into the Glenbrook rail accident presented to the Governor on 6 June 2000 by the Honourable Mr Acting Justice Peter McInerney. The Report set out the Special Commission’s proceedings thus far into the collision between an inter urban train and the Indian Pacific at Glenbrook in the Blue Mountains on 2 December 1999. The report summarises the procedural history of the Commission and each chapter covers a factor relating to the accident such as communications, safeworking procedures, signalling, speed of the trains, braking systems, and train movements. The second last chapter gives the causes of the accident and the factors contributing to it, and the interim recommendations are given in the final chapter. The Report contains diagrams, colour photographs and annexures.
