Analysis of the genetic structure in Glycyrrhiza species and identification of secondary metabolites associated with SNP-loci in Glycyrrhiza glabra

Glycyrrhiza spp. are medicinal legumes that produce a wide array of pharmacologically active secondary metabolites. In major crops, next-generation sequencing (NGS) is widely applied to exploit and expand genetic resources and improve breeding. Here, genotyping by sequencing (GBS) was used on a panel of Glycyrrhiza accessions and populations to (1) characterize their genetic structure and to assess populations relationship, and (2) to perform an association mapping for 13 medically important traits within G. glabra.
