资源简介:

This rock features multiple plant fragments, including a bog myrtle leaf (Myrica lignitum) on one side and abundant conifer shoots on the other. These fossils come from the Eibiswalder Schichten, a rock formation that formed 14–18 million years ago during the early Miocene Epoch. The sediments and the fossils these formations contain were transported through a large river system and deposited in a large coastal delta. Evidence for this delta now stretch across large parts of modern-day Styria, Austria.

This object is part of the historical ‘Ettingshausen collection’, which is on permanent loan from the Institute of Biology, University of Graz.
