This data set contains the monthly rainfall and its inter-annual variability in South Africa (SA). Monthly rainfall values serve an important tool in describing intra-year distribution and are a major contributing factor to the calendar of agrohydrological activities and the month is used, for example, to define the start, duration and end of the rainy season, and also the beginning of the hydrological year.
