VPRS 12152 Stock Record Cards

Stock record cards were used to record details of items acquired by the Emily McPherson College. They constitute the Colleges assets register for the period roughly from 1976 to 1978. A card was raised for each acquisition. Provision was made for recording descriptive information about the item, purchase details, date of acquisition, location within the College, the responsible department, and write-off details. Cards were updated during stock-take to indicate whether the item was still on hand. Stock-takes occurred at intervals of one or several years.The cards were introduced around 1976 (possibly earlier). Prior to this time acquisitions were recorded on stock record sheets (Refer VPRS 1767). In some instances all the details relating to an item were copied from a sheet to a card. Hence, information in this series may pre-date 1976. In other instances a card will show only those stock-take updates made after the cards were introduced.
