Supplementary material for chapter "Gender-indexing interjections"
收藏资源简介:
These three datasets are supplementary material for the chapter "Gender-indexing interjections" in Typologizing interjections: documentation and description across languages, a volume edited by Maïa Ponsonnet, Aimée Lahaussois, and Yvonne Treis, and published by Language Science Press in the Research on Comparative Grammar collection. This chapter investigates the interjections that index the gender of the speech act participants (the speaker, the hearer, or both) across the languages of the world. The "languages" dataset lists the 326 languages surveyed and specifies for each whether they show gender-indexing lexicon (interjections or others parts of speech), and specifies the references consulted for the languages showing gender-indexing interjections. The "interjections" dataset lists the 241 gender-indexing interjections investigated in this study, with their form, the type of gender-indexicality, their meaning and wider function. The "readme" file explains the coding used in the "interjections" dataset.
