Exquisite Curation as Editorial Resistance: Breaking Away from Established Conventions

This working paper describes the editorial process undertaken by the authors when curating chapters for a forthcoming book that shares arts-based educational research. Inspired by the exquisite corpse game – where each contributor adds a word to a composition without seeing what came before – the authors developed a method they have termed ‘exquisite curation’, reimagining a way to address the implications of art, creativity and education. Here, Ludecke and Burke share select editorial conversations with the artists, researchers and teacher-educators who contributed chapters to the book, using scripting as analysis to provide insight into their methods and findings.
