Dppa3 (also called STELLA or PGC7) binds dimethylated lysine-9 of histone H3 (H3K9me2, lysine-10 of the preprotein) that is present in the maternal genome but not the paternal genome of the zygote (Santos et al. 2005, Wossidlo et al. 2011, Nakamura et al. 2012). Dppa3 prevents Tet3 from oxidizing 5-methylcytidine to 5-hydroxymethylcytidine and thereby blocks one pathway of active DNA methylation in the female pronucleus (Nakamura et al. 2012).
Dppa3(亦称STELLA或PGC7)可与母本基因组中存在的组蛋白H3的甲基化赖氨酸-9(H3K9me2,前体蛋白的赖氨酸-10)结合,而在合子中父本基因组中不存在此类结合(Santos等,2005年,Wossidlo等,2011年,Nakamura等,2012年)。Dppa3通过阻止Tet3将5-甲基胞嘧啶氧化为5-羟甲基胞嘧啶,从而阻断女性原核体中活性DNA甲基化的一条途径(Nakamura等,2012年)。
