Companies performing biotechnology activities Spain in 2020, by relevance

In 2020, there were 1,430 companies performing research and development activities in biotechnology in Spain. By relevance, 653 companies were conducting biotech-related activities as their exclusive business activity, while 515 firms carried out biotechnology activities as a necessary tool for production in the European country. As of that date, most Spanish companies and organizations undertaking R&D activities in biotechnology focused on bioprocesses.
