DUST - Territorial Capital Case Studies Geodatabases

The context mapping performed has been carried out to foresee the impact of ongoing and upcoming just sustainability transition measures in case study regions. Conducted as part of the Horizon 2020 "Democratising Just Sustainability Transitions" (DUST) project. A consistent and comprehensible spatial representation of policy impact is constituted via the use of an adapted version of the Territorial capital (TC) framework developed by Orsi et al. ​(2022). To generate output, a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) application was used to create a geographic database that collects and integrates data on thematic key issues identified in relevant policy documents. It was done for the DUST case study regions (the Bełchatów Area of Transition (Poland), Gotland (Sweden), Groningen Province (The Netherlands), Katowice Coal Region (Poland), Lusatian Lignite District (Germany), Norrbotten (Sweden), Rhenish Lignite District (Germany), and Stara Zagora (Bulgaria).
