资源简介:
This dataset investigates the effects of a high-salt diet (HSD) on renal transcriptomes in two rodent species: Mongolian gerbils (Meriones unguiculatus), which are desert-adapted, and non-desert mice (Mus musculus). As high-salt diets are known to cause renal injury and hypertension in various species, this study aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying adaptation to high-salt conditions in desert rodents. Both gerbils and mice were subjected to either a control diet or two levels of salty diets (4% NaCl as moderate salt, 8% NaCl as high salt) over a period of 16 weeks. Comparative transcriptomic analysis provides insights into water-salt regulation and adaptation mechanisms across these species.
