Missingness-aware MODIS urban heat monitoring for Toronto and Vancouver, 2003–2025: reconstructed LST panels and reproducibility outputs

This dataset contains curated zone-level analysis-ready products, machine-readable supplementary tables, reconstruction benchmark outputs, configuration files, and provenance metadata for the Missingness-Aware Urban Thermal Monitoring (MAUTM) framework applied to MODIS land surface temperature records for Toronto and Vancouver, Canada, from 1 January 2003 to 31 December 2025. Full-calendar daily panels were constructed for four MODIS streams, i.e., Terra Day, Terra Night, Aqua Day, and Aqua Night, across 158 Toronto neighbourhoods and 22 Vancouver local areas. The archive includes final reconstructed city–stream–zone–date Parquet products, original clear-sky MODIS LST fields, missingness flags, selected reconstruction method labels, zone-context data, reconstruction benchmark outputs, heat-indicator sensitivity summaries, external-consistency metrics, file-level checksums, and reproducibility metadata. MODIS LST is radiometric land surface temperature and should not be interpreted as 2 m air temperature, indoor heat, or direct human heat exposure. Reconstructed LST values are model-based estimates rather than direct observations. External comparisons with ERA5-Land, Landsat Collection 2 LST, and ECCC station air-temperature observations are provided as plausibility and consistency checks, not as ground-truth validation of MODIS LST.
