Alteration in the Oral microbiota of Indian Antartic expedition members during ship journey and stay at Antartica

12 members from 34th indian scientific expedition to Antartica (34th ISEA) were enrolled for study for 3 months. In this study we analysed the oral microbiota of expedition member by Next Generation Sequencing techniques (NGS). We investigated the influence of seq-voyage and stay at Antartica, on the oral health of indian expedition member. Saliva samples were collected from 12 expedition members at 3 different time points viz. Before start of the journey, after the completetion of voyage and at the end at the stay at Antartica. samples were analysed for Whole Genome and 16s RNA Sequencing.
