Diversity and abundance of nematodes associated with vegetables within the intensified cereal push-pull cropping system

We investigated the influence of push-pull cropping on the abundance and diversity of below ground nematodes. Our results showed that the push-pull can benefit vegetables by increasing free living nematodes that regulate plant parasitic nematodes. The nematodes abundance and diversity was characterized using Amplicon sequencing targeting the 18S rDNA gene using the MiSeq (Illumina).
