Bibliography of German-language literature from Czechoslovakia - 1945-1990

The bibliography was originally compiled in 1998-1999 under the auspices of a grant provided by the DAAD: German Academic Exchange Service. Minor additions and revisions were made in 2006. The primary source for the data was the sole German-language newspaper published during the Communist era in Czechoslovakia. Founded as Aufbau und Frieden in the early 1950s, it changed name to the Prager Volkszeitung in the 1960s. Very few monographs were published, for a variety of economic, cultural, and practical reasons. Most of these few monographs were published abroad, but if the author was still resident in Czechoslovakia or were still a citizen of that state, I included the text in the bibliography.
