Metagenome assembled genomes from Canadian agricultural soils

The Canadian prairie is a large semi-arid steppe landscape, cover 55 M acres of Western Canada. Agricultural management practices are likely to alter carbon dynamics in these soils, which may have important interactions with the soil microbial community. We hypothesize that regenerative agricultural practices will favor microbial communities with greater diversity in taxonomy and function. In this study, we inverstigate the impacts of agricultural management practices on soil microbial community composition and function using high throughput sequencing down to a depth of 1 meter. This repository contains metagenome assembled genomes from 43 metagenomes.
