Amplicon Sequence Analysis of Microbiomes from Semi-Arid Soils in Borno State Nigeria Reveals High Bacterial Diversity below Degraded Top-Soil

This study aims to understand differences in the microbial diversity of the subsurface in comparison to the surface soils and how they may give an insight into the stability of the belowground microbial niches to support soil fertility and revegetation efforts. Or, alternatively reveal the need for custom-made microbial inoculants for revegetation projects in arid and semi-arid desert soils.
