The uploaded data present an overview of the global production of seaweeds and global trades of seaweeds and seaweed-derived hydrocolloids (agar-agar, alginate, and carrageenan) in recent years (2007 – 2017); the former was retrieved from the latest FAO reports and FAO online database, and the latter was retrieved from UN Comtrade and ITC Trade Map.
