We have developed a multisensory change-detection task for head-fixed mice and collected a rich and diverse dataset with behavior, optogenetic interventions (silencing V1/PPC), pharmacological interventions (muscimol in auditory cortex), simultaneous multi-area population recordings (~3000 neurons) and video monitoring. This experiment was designed to investigate how auditory perception influences visual processing, how neural activity is modulated by arousal, task-engagement, and task-relevance of the stimuli, which sense dominates when audio and visual stimuli are conflicting, and what predicts visual or auditory performance. Given the richness of the data collected, we believe that this dataset might be of great interest to researchers studying the neural substrate of audio-visual sensory processing.
