资源简介:
The RTS,S/AS01E malaria vaccine (RTS,S) was introduced into national immunisation programmes in Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi in 2019 as part of a large-scale pilot implementation programme. The study aimed to address questions of feasibility and impact, and to assess safety signals observed in the phase 3 trial to inform decisions about wider use. By April 2021, 24 months after the vaccine was first introduced, sufficient data had accrued to evaluate the safety signals and the impact on severe malaria admissions. The data informed the WHO recommendation on RTS,S in October of 2021. This study reports the primary analysis of the impact of RTS,S introduction on all-cause mortality and describes coverage of the four-dose schedule, as well as the overall impact on severe malaria admissions.
