The plasma metabolome of long COVID-19 patients two years after infection

In this study, our goal was to assess the plasma metabolome in a total of 108 samples collected from healthy controls, COVID-19 patients, and long COVID patients recruited in Mexico between 2020 and 2022. A questionnaire about symptoms persistence and self-reported comorbidities was assessed. Basic laboratory tests and CT scans were performed for long COVID patients. A targeted metabolomics approach using a combination of LC-MS/MS and FIA MS/MS was performed to quantify 108 metabolites. IL-17 and leptin concentrations were measured in long COVID patients by immunoenzymatic assay.

在本项研究中，我们的目标是对在墨西哥于2020年至2022年间招募的健康对照者、COVID-19患者以及长期COVID患者所采集的共计108份血浆代谢组样本进行评估。对症状持续性和自我报告的合并症进行问卷调查。对长期COVID患者进行了基本实验室检测和CT扫描。采用LC-MS/MS和FIA MS/MS相结合的靶向代谢组学方法，对108种代谢物进行定量分析。通过免疫酶联测定，在长期COVID患者中测量了IL-17和瘦素浓度。
