Global maps of the lunar 3-µm absorption band

This data set contains maps of the moon in simple cylindrical projection which represent the integrated depth of the absorption band at 3 μm wavelength (OHIBD) at different local times of day (morning, noon and late afternoon). These maps were obtained by analyzing the data from the Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M³) hyperspectral camera carried by the Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft. They are each provided as GEOTIFF files. For the construction of the maps, a roughness (RMS slope) of the regolith surface of 0°, 9° and 20° was assumed.
