Global maps of the lunar 3-µm absorption band
收藏资源简介:
This data set contains maps of the moon in simple cylindrical projection which represent the integrated depth of the absorption band at 3 μm wavelength (OHIBD) at different local times of day (morning, noon and late afternoon). These maps were obtained by analyzing the data from the Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M³) hyperspectral camera carried by the Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft. They are each provided as GEOTIFF files. For the construction of the maps, a roughness (RMS slope) of the regolith surface of 0°, 9° and 20° was assumed. The analysis method used to generate the maps is described in the following publication: Wöhler, C., Grumpe, A., Berezhnoy, A. A., Shevchenko, V. V., 2017. Time-of-day–dependent global distribution of lunar surficial water/hydroxyl. Science Advances 3(9), e1701286, DOI 10.1126/sciadv.1701286
