A dataset of micromorphological features in a) buried soils of Early Iron Age within the Medieval archaeological sites and b) modern surface soils in the forest-steppe zone of the East European Plain

This dataset of micromorphological photos reflecting the variability of soil microstructure features between the buried soils of different age and modern surface soils. Characteristics of the shape and size of nodules, cutans, pore space, micromass, and etc. can be studied. The photographs were not segmented so that the data set could be used for the valuation of soil microstructure features quantitative indicators in any software.
