All raw strain data from FEMs presented in Mehari Abraha et al., (2019).*Surface principal Strains refers to maximum, mid and minimum principal strains exported from the respective surface using the abaqus probe values function*Surface direct strains refers to axial and shear strains exported from the respective surface using the abaqus probe values function. The local coordinate system of all FEMs was such that the X-axis (E11) is in the supero-inferior direction, the Y-axis (E22) in the anterior–posterior direction, and the Z-axis (E33) oriented mediolaterally.
