Traditional Bulgarian Shoe 18-19th century

Leather "tsarvul" (a more popular term is "Opanak") shoe used by peasants - or so called working people in Bulgaria in the near past. One of a number of shoe types popular in and around Bulgaria during this period. The shoe is completely made from leather and hard stitching. The sole is a separate layer of rough leather, that can be replaced if damaged, which made the shoe easy to repair.
