What Determines the Probability of having an Accredited Undergraduate Business Program?

Regression is used to determine what variables impact the probability an institution has an accredited undergraduate business program. Data is collected from four-year, comprehensive, nonprofit institutions in randomly selected states with multiple control variables. Results suggest the probability of AACSB accreditation is positively influenced by being public, larger, and having higher SATs. The probability of ACBSP/IACBE accreditation decreases if an institution is public and with higher SATs. Having an MBA increases the probability for both accreditations, but the impact is greater for ACBSP/IACBE accredited schools. The impact of market saturation measures (density of other accredited schools) is also explored.
