Cortex-specific inversion of visual responses during sleep

This dataset contains raw 3T fMRI data from 15 subjects who first completed three runs of a functional localizer and then completed a visual task with their eyes closed while resting and spontaneously transitioning between sleep-wake states.

Visual stimulus for the functional localizer was a checkerboard flickering stimulus with a 16 second on-off block design. Participants completed three runs of the functional localizer.

Visual stimulus for the resting run was a full-field flickering stimulus with no spatial contrast with a 16 second on-off block design. On blocks were either a high temporal contrast trial, with 100% contrast modulation flickering from a completely white to black screen at 7Hz, or a low temporal trial, with a 10% contrast modulation flickering between midling grey intensities at 7Hz. Off blocks were non-flickering median luminance screens.
