The dataset captures the visible man-made line markings that delineate vehicular travel paths on roadways, including center lines, lane lines, edge lines, stop lines, crosswalks, and various traffic-related symbols and markings. Feature Layer Description Pavement Marking Lines: This layer represents linear features that define vehicle lanes, road edges, pedestrian crosswalks, directional arrows, and other roadway markings critical for traffic control and safety. The markings are categorized by type and color, tracked with attributes such as installation date, condition, ownership, and maintenance responsibility. Data accuracy is high, with horizontal positional accuracy within 0.38 meters (NSSDA, 95% confidence). Geographic Coverage The data specifically covers Cape Cod, Massachusetts, providing comprehensive planimetric information essential for transportation planning and infrastructure management in the region. Data Collection and Quality The dataset is derived from high-resolution 7.5 cm ground sample distance four-band (true color and near-infrared) aerial imagery collected under ideal spring conditions (leaf-off, snow-free, minimal cloud cover, and optimal sun angles) to ensure minimal shadowing and high data quality.
