Acoustic activity dataset of three sympatric Pipistrellus species in a Mediterranean coastal forest (Castel Porziano, Italy)

This dataset contains activity data of three sympatric Pipistrellus species (P. pipistrellus, P. pygmaeus, and P. kuhlii) collected in the Mediterranean coastal forest of Castel Porziano, central Italy. The aim of the study was to investigate nocturnal activity patterns, temporal species co-occurrence, and the influence of environmental and lunar variables on foraging behaviour. Data were collected using ultrasonic bat detectors (Wildlife Acoustics) deployed at fixed sampling points during nocturnal surveys. No animals were captured or handled, ensuring fully non-invasive data collection.
