Systematics of Eriocaulon in Australasia, phylogenomics, historical biogeography, and landscape genomics

This project investigates the evolutionary relationships, geographic history, and genetic diversity of Eriocaulon species in Australasia, a genus within the monocot family Eriocaulaceae. Despite its ecological significance and morphological diversity, Eriocaulon remains taxonomically challenging due to limited molecular data and complex species boundaries.Using high-throughput sequencing approaches, including Angiosperms353 phylogenomics and landscape genomics, this study aims to resolve species level relationships and delimit cryptic taxa, reconstruct historical biogeographic patterns across Australasia, and assess population structure and gene flow in relation to environmental gradients
