Northeast China is facing a new round of revitalization and development opportunities; however, salient population issues have emerged as the primary constraining factors hindering its economic and social development. This dataset records the population distribution across counties and cities under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province in 1990, including three indicators: agricultural population, total population at the end of the year, and rural population. It can provide data support for research on the current status, characteristics, and evolutionary laws of the spatial distribution of population in Heilongjiang Province.
