The land types are classified into secondary categories as follows: paddy field, dry land, closed forest land, shrub land, sparse forest land, other forest land, high-coverage grassland, moderate-coverage grassland, low-coverage grassland, rivers and canals, lakes, reservoirs and ponds, permanent glaciers and snowfields, tidal flats, river flats, urban land, rural settlements, other construction land, sandy land, Gobi, saline-alkali land, marsh land, bare land, bare rock and gravel land, and other. Specifically, cultivated land, which consists of paddy fields and dry lands, is categorized by landform into those located in mountainous, hilly, plain, and slope areas with a gradient greater than 25 degrees. The data scale is 1:100,000.
