资源简介:

This paper introduces the Control Loop Hypothesis, a structural model of power that proposes all durable systems of social control—governments, religions, ideologies, and AI systems—are sustained not by force alone, but by recursive symbolic loops that resolve collective ambiguity. These loops provide narrative closure, maintain internal coherence, and replicate through symbolic compression and social contagion. The hypothesis identifies four key properties (the “Four C’s”) that determine the dominance and resilience of a control loop: Closure – resolves uncertainty with a stable narrative Coherence – maintains logical consistency Compression – reduces into portable symbols or phrases Contagion – spreads virally through emotional or algorithmic pathways This framework explains the rise, persistence, and collapse of power systems across history and predicts that no large-scale coercive system can persist beyond three generations without symbolic recursion. It accounts for authoritarian resilience, algorithmic governance, emergent social norms, and the structure of resistance. This paper is applicable to political science, cognitive theory, AI ethics, and mass psychology. It offers a falsifiable, interdisciplinary foundation for understanding how belief becomes governance in the age of networks, algorithms, and symbolic warfare.
