Micronekton and zooplankton respiration rates derived from ETS activity measurements on COMICS Cruises DY086 and DY090.

These datasets contain respiration rates of micronekton and zooplankton sampled from COMICS Cruises DY086 and DY090. The DY086 samples were collected in the Austral Spring/Summer of 2017, from the Scotia Sea in the Southern Ocean, aboard RRS Discovery. The DY090 samples were collected in May/June 2018 in the Benguela Current region of the Atlantic Ocean, aboard RRS Discovery. Samples were obtained using RMT25 and MOCNESS nets, deployed in the upper 500m (DY086) and 750m (DY090) of the water column. Respiration rates were estimated from ETS activity, which was measured in the laboratory, and rates have been corrected from experimental temperature to in situ temperature.
