Users can download data tables regarding nutrition indicators and statistics of low-income children. Background The Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance System (PedNSS) is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). PedNSS provides information on nutrition-indicators and the nutritional status of low-income children in the United States. Information on demographics, infant feeding practices, anthropometry, anemia and health risk behaviors is collected. User Functionality Users can view and download static data tables, which are organized by table nu mber, health indicator and type of analysis. Prevalence and trend data on the national level are available. Data Notes Participants are children between the ages of 0 and 20 years, who attend or utilize federally funded health programs or use public health clinics for their health care needs. Data sources include the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Title V Maternal and Child Health Program and the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment Program. Data tables are available in PDF or HTML formats. The latest data is available from 2009 a nd there is no indication when the data will be updated.
