Data from a public document search and focus groups used to determine the perceived risk profiles of five fisheries from the Northeast Pacific and Northwest Atlantic United States.

Data from a public document search conducted on documents from January 2019 to September 2021, that aimed to find identify risks perceived by each fishery. The file public_document_search.PDF lists the risks identified in this search, citations, the authors of the documents, date the document was created/published, the fisheries that it is relevant to, the type of risk, and a short summary of the risk identified from the document.

Data from focus groups used to determine the perceived risk profiles of five fisheries from the Northeast Pacific and Northwest Atlantic United States. One focus group was held with each of the five fisheries to evaluate the risks that we found and identify additional risks to fishermen that did not appear in the document search. Four focus groups were conducted via Zoom and one was conducted in person (Northeast Groundfish Fishery). The notes from these focus groups are available upon request from the authors for researchers with an IRB or equivalent at their institution.
