Pseudomonas veronii strain:G2 Genome sequencing

Nine different bacterial isolates were recovered from two former landfill sites in the State of Brandenburg, Germany. The bacteria were isolated by applying a highly revised iChip procedure. Each of the 9 isolates was obtained in pure culture. As a consortium, the 9 bacteria are capable of degrading polyethylene film. The complete genome sequence of strain G2 was determined by long-read PacBio sequencing. Using the TYGS server for taxonomic classification, the strain G2 was assigned to the species Pseudomonas veronii.
